Dr. Deshinee Moodley, MD(MBChB)

Dr. Moodley graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Natal in 2000 and then emigrated to Canada in 2010. She has over 20 years experience in Family Medicine and Emergency medicine. She has a special interest in Medical Aesthetics. Dr. Moodley trained at the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine in Miami and at APT training in Toronto where she gained specialized training in Botox/Dysport and a variety of Fillers. Dr. Moodley also has a special interest in weight loss and body sculpting and recently acquired SculpSure, the world’s first FDA approved laser body sculpting device that is non-invasive and suitable for all skin types.

BOTOX®
BOTOX® is made from a purified botulinum toxin. It works by limiting the movement of the treated facial muscles.
BOTOX® is a customizable treatment. We will ask you what your areas of concern are and how much or how little movement you would like to have. You can still have movement in the treated area with Botox, if that is the look you desire. The more Botox injected the less movement you will have.
If you’ve never tried BOTOX® before, we will start you out conservatively, you can always add more. It can take up to 2 weeks for your Botox to take full effect. What you will notice is less and less movement each day. Rarely do you bruise with Botox, but anytime you are entering the skin with a needle it can happen and it’s very hard to predict.

FILLERS
As we age, the natural collagen and elastin in the skin lessens, as cells lose their ability to produce more of their youthful component. The skin becomes dryer, thinner and less able to fix itself. When we are born, we have plentiful amounts of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) in our body, but as we get older this store of HA diminishes, leaving the skin less well supported, and so lines and wrinkles develop. The treatment of wrinkles with dermal filler will usually involve injecting this naturally occurring product (HA) through a tiny needle.
